Give Your Dog Their Own Valentine’s Treat
With February 14th looming on the horizon, many people will be starting to book restaurants, buy cards and chocolates and maybe even take a trip to the jewellers before asking the most important question of their lives.
However, it is not like that for everyone. Some folk are single but have a faithful canine companion who might be a worthy recipient of a bit of love in a different way. And even a couple who have been together for many years but have a dog might decide that it’s time the pooch gets a bit of fun themselves on this special day.
While some may think Valentine’s Day is just about romance, many folk around the world celebrate it rather differently, with a broader expression of love and regards for beloved family members and friends. For example, in Mexico the emphasis is very firmly on friendship, not romance.
So, perhaps your best furry friend is indeed an appropriate recipient of some pampering - and what better than some dog daycare in Chiswick, giving them a bit of a pampering that will mean far more to them than big red hearts or cards?
Of course, just as romance should never be saved for just one day of the year, not should giving your dog a treat, so you may start planning for more days when they get something extra special.
Just as Mexicans have a different way of marking February 14th, in some cultures that isn’t the most romantic day of the year at all.
The Welsh equivalent is St Dwynwen's Day, which takes place on January 25th, while in the Spanish city of Valencia, St Dionysius’ Day on October 9th plays the same role.
Your dog may well not be Welsh or Spanish, but just as February 14th might give you an excuse to treat them, maybe you could do so on these days as well!
