What to Expect at Your Dog’s Initial Consultation
Detailed History Taking
We’ll begin by discussing your dog’s full medical history, including any surgeries, previous injuries, or ongoing conditions, as well as current concerns.
Full Clinical Assessment
This includes both static and dynamic assessments, where we evaluate your dog’s:
- Gait and posture
- Joint range of motion
- Muscle tone, balance, and coordination
Pain Assessment
Our therapist will gently assess for areas of pain or discomfort and consider how this is affecting your dog’s movement and behaviour.
Findings & Personalised Treatment Plan
We’ll clearly explain the findings of our assessment, recommend appropriate therapies, and outline a custom treatment plan designed to support your dog’s recovery or management.
Home Care Guidance
You’ll receive practical advice on how to support your dog at home—this may include exercise modification, lifestyle tips, and supportive measures such as heat therapy or rest guidelines.
Ongoing Treatment & Monitoring
Follow-up appointments will be tailored to your dog’s needs and progress. Each session builds on the last, and we regularly reassess to adapt the treatment plan as required.
Communication with Your Vet
We’ll share a full report from the consultation with your veterinary surgeon, keeping them informed of our findings and your dog’s treatment plan. You will receive a copy too.
